About Mercatorre

Several times a year, the former Molini Meridionali Marzoli in Torre del Greco are transformed into a massive vintage market. Mercatorre brings together antiques, mid-century modern items, vinyl records, retro clothing, design, and local crafts within a 1907 industrial complex overlooking the Gulf of Naples. Alongside the stalls, you will find collective art exhibitions, creative recycling workshops for children, live music, DJ sets, and local street food. Admission is always free, and the atmosphere is that of a neighborhood festival that brings generations together.

Mercatorre, the vintage market of Torre del Greco

Mercatorre is the vintage, craft, and upcycling fair that brings the former Molini Meridionali Marzoli complex to life several times a year in the town of Torre del Greco, in the province of Naples, Campania. Originally launched as an alternative market, the event has grown with every edition to become a small cultural symbol of the Vesuvius area: an urban ritual that unites generations and reached its twenty-fifth edition in June 2026.

An industrial complex overlooking the Gulf of Naples

The venue is one of the city's most evocative spots: the Molini Meridionali Marzoli on Via Calastro, built in 1907 just a stone's throw from the port and the railway, back when grain arrived by sea and the facility was one of the most modern milling plants in Southern Italy. Damaged during the war in 1943 and gradually decommissioned starting in the 1970s, the complex was acquired by the municipality in 1989 and restored. Today, it houses municipal offices and, within the spaces of its imposing industrial architecture overlooking the Gulf, cultural events like Mercatorre.

What you will find among the stalls

Every edition brings together stalls and stands dedicated to upcycling and the search for rare pieces:

  • vintage items, mid-century modern, and collectibles;
  • vinyl records, for collectors and the curious;
  • retro clothing and second-hand garments;
  • furniture and restored home accessories;
  • design and local crafts, featuring creatives from the Vesuvius area.

Recent editions have gathered around eighty exhibitors, including artisans, collectors, and artists from across the region, with over four thousand visitors per weekend.

Contemporary art in the CoBar and Stecca spaces

A significant space is reserved for contemporary art: in the CoBar and Stecca buildings, a Collective Art Exhibition is set up for every edition, bringing together over twenty painters, photographers, and illustrators active in Campania. In June 2026, the exhibition expanded with the "Falaslin Hurra" show, featuring over eighty works by Italian and international artists, accompanied by an open-air collective exhibition.

Live music, workshops, and street food

Mercatorre is more than just a market. The program changes with every appointment and has hosted vinyl DJ sets and Open Decks sessions over the years, where anyone can propose their own music selection to contribute to a collective soundtrack. It also features performances by students of the S.M.U.M. modern music school, creative recycling workshops for children, teenagers, and adults led by hobbyist and coach Antonietta Pedata, activities by the Youth Forum of Torre del Greco (ping pong tournaments, chess, board games, the "Blind Date with a Book" initiative), and a local street food area with offerings from Bivio 77 and I'm Ciro Pizza.

A free event for all ages

Organized by Stecca and CoBar, the fair typically takes place over a weekend, opening on Saturday from 5:00 PM to midnight and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and is repeated several times throughout the year: spring, summer, and autumn editions, the Carnival edition, and the Xmas Edition in December. Admission is always free, making Mercatorre one of the easiest and most pleasant local getaways in the Vesuvius area, halfway between upcycled shopping, a cultural stroll, and a village festival.

Mercatorre — edition 2026

In 2026, Mercatorre returned to the former Molini Meridionali Marzoli in Torre del Greco with four consecutive events: the 22nd edition on March 14-15, the 23rd on April 18-19, the 24th on May 23-24, and the 25th on June 20-21. Each weekend brought together exhibitors of vintage, mid-century modern, vinyl, retro clothing, and local crafts, accompanied by contemporary art exhibitions, creative recycling workshops, live music, and local street food. Admission remained free.

Mercatorre 2026: four weekends at the Mills

The year 2026 confirmed the fast pace of the Vesuvius fair, with an event almost every month between March and June in the spaces of the former Molini Meridionali Marzoli in Torre del Greco. The format remained the established one: stalls of vintage items, mid-century modern, vinyl, retro clothing, design, and local crafts, with live music, local street food, and a convivial atmosphere that attracts visitors of all ages.

Art, workshops, and youth

In the CoBar and Stecca buildings, a Collective Art Exhibition was set up for every edition with painters, photographers, and illustrators from the area; in June, the "Falaslin Hurra" exhibition was added, featuring over eighty works by Italian and international artists. The Youth Forum of Torre del Greco enlivened the Sundays with games and initiatives like "Blind Date with a Book," while the creative recycling workshops led by Antonietta Pedata involved children, teenagers, and adults using paper, cardboard, and recycled materials.

A symbolic edition

The event on June 20-21 marked the twenty-fifth edition of the festival, celebrated with a day entirely dedicated to music, featuring a 360-degree selection from all over the world. Admission was free and open to all on all dates in 2026.
