Christmas markets in the heart of Verona, between Piazza dei Signori and the historic courtyards
Natale in Piazza is the event that brings Christmas markets to the historic centre of Verona. Wooden stalls are set up in the area behind Piazza delle Erbe, between Piazza dei Signori and its courtyards, the Cortile del Mercato Vecchio, and the Cortile del Tribunale, creating a charming route through medieval and Renaissance palaces.
The markets feature around one hundred stands offering gift ideas, Christmas decorations, handicrafts, typical products, and gastronomic specialities: from mulled wine to spiced sweets, in an atmosphere reminiscent of Central European market traditions. There is also the large twenty-metre-high Bauli fir tree, which stands tall at Porta Nuova, welcoming visitors to the city.
Verona's Christmas is not just about markets: the city lights up with decorations, hosts nativity scene exhibitions, concerts, and cultural initiatives, as well as areas dedicated to ice skating. Verona, famous for its Christmas sweets like pandoro and nadalรฌn, experiences the holidays with a calendar full of events.
Promoted by the Municipality of Verona, the Christmas markets have become a regular fixture of the city's winter season, attracting visitors from all over the Veneto region and beyond, with free shuttle buses connecting car parks to the historic centre on weekends.
The 2026 edition of Natale in Piazza will bring the Christmas markets back to the historic centre of Verona, in the area between Piazza dei Signori and the courtyards of the Mercato Vecchio and Tribunale. Around a hundred stalls will offer gift ideas, decorations, typical products, and gastronomic specialities, from mulled wine to spiced sweets.
The precise dates and the full 2026 program will be confirmed by the Municipality of Verona in the weeks preceding the event. The twenty-metre-high Bauli fir tree at Porta Nuova and the free shuttle buses on weekends will return.
