About Medieval Evenings

The Medieval Evenings transform the small village of Itieli, a hamlet of Narni (Terni), into a medieval village. Within the castle walls, historical re-enactments, fire-eater shows, medieval music, drummers, and armed guards follow one another, while in the taverns, typical products such as schiacciata baked in ancient wood-fired ovens are enjoyed. At the entrance, euros are exchanged for coins minted for the occasion, which are used to purchase food and drinks: a dive into the atmosphere of the Umbrian Middle Ages.

A village that returns to the Middle Ages

In the small village of Itieli, a hamlet of Narni in the province of Terni, the Medieval Evenings take visitors back in time for a few days. The castle and alleys come alive with historical re-enactments, fire-eater shows, medieval music, drummers, and costumed figures, recreating the atmosphere of a village of the era.

Taverns and period flavors

Among the most appreciated attractions are the taverns where typical local products are tasted: among these is the schiacciata baked in the ancient wood-fired ovens rekindled for the occasion. A special feature makes the experience even more immersive: upon entering, euros are exchanged for coins specially minted, to be used for purchasing food and drinks along the way.

A festival of identity

The Medieval Evenings are an event deeply felt by the community of Itieli, which each year stages its historical memory with care and participation. For those visiting southern Umbria, it is an opportunity to discover an authentic village far from the most beaten paths and to experience a different evening, between entertainment, tradition, and good food.
