Three days of sport, music, and gastronomy at Parco Pognani
In Montanara, a district of Curtatone in the Province of Mantua, the last weekend of May is dedicated to MayDay, the festival that enlivens Parco Pognani on Via Roda. It is an event that blends different souls — sports, music, gastronomy, and environmental awareness — into a single program aimed at the entire community.
Among the most anticipated events is the boxing night, organized in collaboration with Boxe Mantova, featuring seven amateur bouts and one professional match. Saturday is dedicated to the younger ones with a cycling race for youngsters, while the morning hosts a conference titled "Lago vivo" (Living Lake), reflecting the festival's focus on the environmental issues of the Mantua area.
Every evening, from 7:30 PM, the food stands open, accompanied by musical aperitifs and, on key nights, DJ sets. There are also traditional village festival attractions: a mechanical bull, soft air, and recreational activities for everyone. A program designed to bring together sport, fun, and conviviality.
MayDay is one of those festivals that showcase the vitality of the districts of the Municipality of Curtatone, overlooking the Mincio Valleys. An opportunity to experience the Mantua territory in its most authentic and communal dimension, far from the major tourist circuits.
