May Fair of San Carlo

A village festival in the heart of the Ferrara lowlands

The May Fair is the event that every spring draws residents and visitors to San Carlo, a populous hamlet of the Municipality of Terre del Reno, in the province of Ferrara (Emilia-Romagna). The heart of the festival is Piazza Augusto Pola, which for three days transforms into a large gathering space where tradition and entertainment meet. It is one of those genuine village festivals that tell the soul of the Ferrara lowlands: conviviality, good food, and the desire to be together.

Three days of events for everyone

The program alternates musical moments, shows, and events designed for all ages. It ranges from dancing evenings with DJs and live music to the fun and charitable San Carlo Dog Show, the amateur dog show that delights young and old every year, to the lighthearted tug-of-war competition between local teams. The grand finale is entrusted to the fashion night and the traditional fireworks display that lights up the square's sky.

Food and fun

The soul of the fair is the food court, open every evening, where you can enjoy traditional Emilian-Romagnol dishes in good company. For the little ones, there is the mini amusement park with its rides, as well as games and entertainment that make the May Fair an event suitable for the whole family.

A local tradition

Organized by the Pro Loco San Carlo APS with the patronage and contribution of the Municipality of Terre del Reno and the involvement of local associations, the May Fair is a well-established event for the community: an occasion that combines tradition and entertainment, enhancing the territory and creating meeting opportunities open to citizens and visitors. The role of the Pro Loco, as highlighted by the municipal administration, is increasingly fundamental for the life of the town.
