A Campus That Becomes a Show

MARCHEinDANZA is the dance project that, at the end of March, transforms the Mario Tiberini Municipal Theatre in San Lorenzo in Campo into an open-air laboratory for movement. Not just a simple review of performances, but a performance campus: a few days of intense work where established artists guide young enthusiasts and the region's new talents, culminating in the final staging before the public. The initiative is promoted as part of the cultural activities of the Municipality of San Lorenzo in Campo, a small village in the Cesano Valley in the Province of Pesaro and Urbino.

Dance Meets Young Talents from the Marche

The common thread of MARCHEinDANZA is the promotion of Marchigiano talent: girls and boys training in the region's dance schools find an opportunity here to engage with professionals, refine their technique, and present their work on a real stage. The campus format combines the educational dimension with the performance aspect, returning to the audience the journey accomplished in just a few days of shared study.

The curtain rises for two distinct events: a main evening on Saturday and an afternoon repeat on Sunday, also designed for families. The finale is a true scenic rendition, where the choreographies created during the campus come to life amidst lights, music, and the energy of the young performers.

The Mario Tiberini Theatre, an Exceptional Setting

The choice of venue is no coincidence. The Mario Tiberini Municipal Theatre occupies the main floor of Palazzo Della Rovere and is dedicated to the famous tenor from San Lorenzo, Mario Tiberini. It is one of the historic Italian-style theatres dotting the Marche hinterland: a cozy hall with warm acoustics, serving as a treasure chest for the town's theatre season and initiatives like this, where contemporary dance dialogues with a fascinating architectural heritage.

San Lorenzo in Campo and the Cesano Valley

San Lorenzo in Campo is a village of just over three thousand inhabitants, known for its Benedictine Abbey and its food and wine traditions, from the prized Castagnolo De.C.O. to the valley's wines. Including a dance event in the town's calendar means bringing contemporary culture to a provincial setting, offering young people from the area a stage and visitors one more reason to discover this corner of the Marche between Pesaro, Urbino, and the Apennines.
