The food and wine walk through the hamlets of Fabriano
Magno De Fori is a non-competitive food and wine walk that takes place in the Municipality of Fabriano, in the Province of Ancona, in the heart of the Marche region. The event, organized by Pro Loco Fabriano, is traditionally held on June 2nd and offers a free-pace itinerary through the hilly hamlets of the city, immersed in the tranquility of the Apennine nature. The dialectal name, which evokes "eating out," well summarizes the spirit of the event: walking without haste and stopping for meals along the route.
The start is scheduled for the morning, around 10:30 AM, from one of the hamlets in the Fabriano area. The circular route brings participants back to the starting point after crossing some of the most picturesque villages and landscapes in the Municipality. There are no rankings or timers: the only rule is to enjoy the walk, the company, and the numerous gastronomic stops distributed along the route.
The real protagonist is the food. Along the itinerary, walkers find several refreshment points where they can taste, in order, an aperitif, a first course, a second course, fruit, ice cream, and coffee, all prepared with high-quality zero-kilometer ingredients according to ancient local tradition recipes. Accompanying the dishes are local white and red wine, craft beer, and water. Each participant receives a typical glass with a lanyard upon arrival, as well as a souvenir gadget for the day.
Magno De Fori is designed to be accessible to all ages: the formula includes different fees for adults, teenagers, and children, with the youngest guests hosted by the organization. It is an opportunity to discover the hamlets of Fabriano, enhance the Apennine landscape, and enjoy an outdoor day dedicated to conviviality and typical Marche products.
