The Magnalonga della Valpolicella is one of the most beloved food and wine walks in the Verona area. Part of the broader Festa dei Vini Classici della Valpolicella e Recioto (Classic Valpolicella and Recioto Wine Festival), it offers a non-competitive itinerary of about 11 kilometers through vineyards, paths, dirt roads, and wineries of Valpolicella Classica, starting from the AIDO Gardens of Villa Serego Santa Sofia in Pedemonte, a hamlet of San Pietro in Cariano in the province of Verona.
A menu that accompanies the walk
What makes the Magnalonga special is the combination of outdoor activity and tasting: along the route, spread over multiple stages, courses of a typical menu are served, accompanied by the iconic wines of the region — Valpolicella Classico, Amarone, Recioto, and Ripasso. The walk, which can be completed in a maximum of six hours, concludes with coffee at the last stop, in a convivial and relaxed atmosphere.
A sold-out event
Organized by the Associazione Vini Classici della Valpolicella (Valpolicella Classic Wines Association), the Magnalonga attracts thousands of participants every year and regularly sells out. Suitable for families and walkers of all levels, with gluten-free options and dedicated gadgets, it is the ideal way to discover the landscape and enology of one of Italy's most famous wine regions, in the heart of the province of Verona.

The 27th Magnalonga della Valpolicella is scheduled for Sunday, April 26, 2026, as part of the Festa dei Vini Classici. The 11 km non-competitive route starts from the AIDO Gardens of Villa Serego Santa Sofia in Pedemonte di San Pietro in Cariano, with departures in groups every 15 minutes from 8:45 AM to 1:00 PM. Along the walk, tastings of Valpolicella wines paired with a typical menu.

How to get there
The start is at the AIDO Gardens of Villa Serego Santa Sofia, in Pedemonte di San Pietro in Cariano, about 15 km from Verona (exit A4 Verona Nord or A22 Verona Nord).
