Macchiagodena, a municipality in the province of Isernia in upper Molise, is one of the reference centers for Molisan summer black truffle. The village is part of the National Association of Truffle Towns and has made this precious undergrowth product a symbol of its gastronomic and territorial identity.
The summer black truffle festival
In August, the Molisan Summer Black Truffle Festival takes place, organized by the Tuber Macchiagodenese Consortium together with the Municipality. The event offers truffle dish tastings and a market of typical local products, with the participation of producers and truffle hunters from the area. It is also an opportunity for competitions and initiatives to promote truffles and other products of upper Molise.
An excellence of upper Molise
The Tuber Consortium, which brings together numerous municipalities in Molise, works to protect and promote regional truffles and their territory. The Macchiagodena festival is one of the events that best showcase this vocation, in a village nestled in the woods of the province of Isernia.
Truffle Festival — edition 2026
In 2026 too, Macchiagodena dedicates its Molisan Summer Black Truffle Festival to August, organized by the Tuber Macchiagodenese Consortium together with the Municipality. The event, in the tradition of the Town of Truffles, offers truffle dish tastings and a market of local products.
