Luppolonga

A walk between craft beer and the river

Luppolonga is a tasting walk debuting in 2026 in Casalmaggiore, on the banks of the Po River in the Province of Cremona. The idea is simple and original: to walk a four-to-five-kilometer loop between the main embankment and the river's floodplain, stopping at five stages to taste the craft beers produced by Birrificio Mad One.

Five stops, five styles

Each stop pairs a beer with a moment of the walk, telling a different beer style: from Munich Helles to Bohemian Pilsner, from Märzen to West Coast IPA, including a spiced beer. Along the route, signs and storytelling installations illustrate the characteristics of the beers, the local heritage, and the Po River landscape, transforming the tasting into a small journey of discovery of the territory.

Nature, taste, and final celebration

The route starts from the Finestra sul Po (Window on the Po), a panoramic viewpoint of the river, and concludes at the Baia di Casalmaggiore (Bay of Casalmaggiore), where the walk turns into a celebration with a DJ set and a local artisan market. In addition to the five beers, the package includes two tastings of Terbièr, dry snacks along the way, and a welcome kit.

A new format for the lower Cremona area

Organized by Birrificio Mad One and the APS Mad Events association, with the support of ÈPiù – Padania Alimenti, Luppolonga brings a format to Casalmaggiore that intertwines slow tourism, enhancement of the river landscape, and craft beer culture. An opportunity to discover the Po floodplain at a different pace, away from large mass events.
