Theatre Meets the Landscape

Lune di Teatro is the travelling summer theatre festival that enlivens Lake Garda and the Valtenesi area from late May to early August. Coordinated by the Viandanze company, the festival visits numerous municipalities – including Lonato del Garda, in the province of Brescia – bringing performances to open-air venues such as squares, courtyards, castles, parks, and churches, where "the landscape becomes the stage set".

Events in Lonato del Garda

In Lonato del Garda, the festival chooses evocative spaces in the town centre and surrounding area: the Courtyard of Palazzo Zambelli, home to the Library, and Parco delle Pozze. Here, contemporary theatre, dance, and new circus performances by local and guest companies are staged, with a particular focus on family audiences.

A Widespread Festival

Lune di Teatro involves about ten municipalities on the Brescia side of Lake Garda and in Valtenesi, from Bedizzole to Calcinato, from Desenzano del Garda to Sirmione, in a journey that combines art and territory. Performances in Lonato are free admission, in line with the festival's philosophy of bringing theatre closer to the widest possible audience.
