Theatre meets the landscape

Lune di Teatro is the travelling summer theatre festival that animates Lake Garda and the Valtenesi area from the end of May to the beginning of August. Coordinated by the Viandanze company, the festival travels through numerous municipalities — including Lonato del Garda, in the province of Brescia — bringing shows to open-air locations such as squares, courtyards, castles, parks and churches, where "the landscape becomes the stage set".

Events in Lonato del Garda

In Lonato del Garda, the festival chooses evocative spaces in the town centre and surrounding area: the Courtyard of Palazzo Zambelli, home to the Library, and Parco delle Pozze. Here, contemporary theatre, dance and new circus shows are performed by local and guest companies, with a particular focus on families.

A widespread festival

Lune di Teatro involves about ten municipalities on the Brescia side of the lake and in Valtenesi, from Bedizzole to Calcinato, from Desenzano del Garda to Sirmione, on a journey that combines art and territory. The shows in Lonato are free admission, in line with the festival's philosophy of bringing theatre closer to the widest possible audience.
