About LSD Festival

LSD Festival – Books Sounds Destinations brings its previews to Busseto, in the heart of the Verdi lands in the province of Parma, offering a taste of the cultural event that intertwines literature, music, and contemporary visions before the main event in Fidenza. Between the Verdi Theatre and Via Roma, two days of shows, book presentations, and DJ sets anticipate the festival's themes, with guests from the world of writing, education, and singer-songwriting. An opportunity to experience culture in a village that was the birthplace of Giuseppe Verdi.

Busseto Previews of the LSD Festival

The LSD Festival – Books Sounds Destinations chooses Busseto, a small village in the province of Parma famous for being the birthplace of Giuseppe Verdi, for its traveling previews. Before the main event kicks off in Fidenza, the festival brings a compact yet intense program to the Busseto municipality, capable of anticipating the spirit of the review: the encounter between books, sounds, and destinations, i.e., between the written word, live music, and new contemporary visions.

A Festival Spread Between Fidenza and Busseto

LSD is a cultural festival born in Fidenza that, edition after edition, has consolidated a precise identity: book presentations, conversations with authors, concerts, DJ sets, exhibitions, and workshops gathered around a guiding theme. The Busseto section serves as an entryway to the review: a few carefully selected events to dialogue with the prestigious Giuseppe Verdi Theatre and the open spaces of the historic center, such as Via Roma.

What to Expect

  • Theatrical and storytelling performances in the evocative Verdi Theatre;
  • Book presentations with authors from the Italian cultural scene;
  • DJ sets and musical moments to close the evenings;
  • Often free entry for outdoor events.

Busseto and the Verdi Lands

Hosting a literary and musical festival in Busseto is no coincidence: the village, in the lower Parma area of Emilia-Romagna, thrives on music and culture thanks to the Verdi legacy. The Verdi Theatre, built in the mid-nineteenth century within the Rocca Pallavicino, is one of the symbolic places of the territory. The LSD previews fit into this context, offering visitors to the Verdi lands another reason to stop in the spring.

How It Works

The Busseto previews precede the main festival in Fidenza, the lead municipality of the event, by a few weeks. Those who participate in the Busseto dates can then follow the entire Fidenza program, which brings together the biggest names in Italian culture around the year's theme.

LSD Festival — edition 2026

The Busseto previews of the fifth edition of LSD Festival were held on May 2 and 3, 2026, anticipating the theme "Let's Break the Lines. Deep Roots to Change." Two days between the Verdi Theatre and Via Roma, with a theatrical performance dedicated to Giovannino Guareschi, a literary presentation by Massimo Zamboni, and a DJ set, before the main event in Fidenza (May 22–24, 2026).

Busseto Previews 2026

The fifth edition of LSD Festival brought two preview events to Busseto, anticipating this year's theme, "Let's Break the Lines. Deep Roots to Change." The Busseto previews preceded the main festival, scheduled in Fidenza from May 22 to 24, 2026, at Corte and Palazzo Ex Orsoline – Spazio OF.
