Contemporary circus at the Lonato Rocca
Lonato in Festival is the summer event dedicated to contemporary circus and street arts that enlivens the Visconteo-Veneta Fortress of Lonato del Garda, in the province of Brescia, every August. The fortress, one of the most imposing in Lombardy, and its park become an open-air stage for several evenings, immersed in a fairy-tale atmosphere, with views of the Lake Garda landscape.
About fifty shows for everyone
The program brings together acrobats, jugglers, tightrope walkers, musicians, ethnic groups, and puppetry companies from all over the world. There are about fifty shows spread throughout the festival days, which generally take place from late afternoon (around 6:30 PM) until late evening, filling the large spaces of the park and the Rocca with music, amazement, and wonder.
The format, designed for audiences of all ages, alternates spectacular moments with more intimate and poetic ones, typical of new circus: a proposal that has made Lonato in Festival one of the most recognizable events of the Garda summer.
A fortress that becomes a stage
Promoted by the Fondazione Ugo Da Como, the festival enhances the historical heritage of Lonato del Garda by transforming the Rocca into a vibrant place where history meets contemporary creativity. Within the medieval walls, visitors can wander among the various artistic stations, letting themselves be surprised by circus acts, musical performances, and wonders from around the world.
Lonato in Festival — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of Lonato in Festival is expected on the second weekend of August at the Visconteo-Veneta Fortress of Lonato del Garda. As tradition dictates, the fortress and its park will host about fifty shows of contemporary circus, street arts, and puppetry, featuring international artists and companies.
The shows will run from late afternoon until late evening, along a route that winds through the various spaces of the Rocca.

How to get there
Lonato del Garda can be reached from the A4 Milan-Venice motorway (Desenzano-Sirmione or Brescia Est exit) and from the train station on the Milan-Venice line. The Visconteo-Veneta Fortress is located in the upper part of the historic center.
