About Literary Sundays

Literary Sundays is the festival that for three decades has brought writers and books to the Council Chamber of the Visconti Castle in Abbiategrasso. Between January and February, a series of author encounters enlivens the city's winter Sundays, in an event now steeped in history and curated by the Associazione Iniziativa Donna. Presentations, dialogues, and literary insights make this festival a cultural benchmark for the Metropolitan City of Milan area.

Thirty Years of Culture

In Abbiategrasso, within the Metropolitan City of Milan, Literary Sundays represents one of the city's longest-standing cultural traditions. Now in its XXXI edition, the festival celebrates thirty years of cultural sharing: encounters, exhibitions, debates, and events that have accompanied the community on a long journey of growth and dialogue.

Author Encounters

The heart of the festival lies in the encounters with writers, hosted in the Council Chamber of the Visconti Castle. Between January and February, female and male authors present their works and engage in dialogue with the public, in Sunday events that combine book presentations, reflection, and discussion.

  • Encounters with authors and book presentations
  • Venue: Council Chamber of the Visconti Castle
  • Held on Sundays between January and February

A Festival with a Female Touch

Curated by the Associazione Iniziativa Donna, in collaboration with local entities such as L'Altra Libreria and Cooperativa Rinascita Abbiatense, the festival has often given a voice to themes and authors connected to the female world. It is this focus, combined with its thirty-year consistency, that makes Literary Sundays an eagerly awaited event in Abbiategrasso's cultural winter.
