The present staged
LIFE - Theatre Arts Media Festival is the event that ZONA K dedicates to the encounter between theatre, arts, and media. The main venue is the Fabbrica del Vapore (via Giulio Cesare Procaccini 4, Municipality 8, City of Milan, Lombardy), alongside the spaces of ZONA K and other locations in the city. It is a distributed festival, alternating free events, ticketed shows, and subscription options.
When theatre becomes journalism
The hallmark of LIFE is hybridization: the festival blends theatre, performance, visual arts, installations, live audio-video, and journalism to interpret the complexity of the contemporary world. The themes addressed are those that permeate public debate – from political and social polarization to information overload, from algorithmic bubbles to the relationship with those who think differently from us – translated into stage experiences capable of engaging the spectator.
A contemporary laboratory
By promoting collaboration between different artistic languages, LIFE appeals to an audience attentive to contemporary performance and current affairs. The Fabbrica del Vapore, a former industrial space now a cultural hub of the City of Milan, offers the ideal setting for an event that makes the dialogue between art and reality its distinctive feature, in a city always attentive to theatrical experimentation.
LIFE Festival — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of LIFE - Theatre Arts Media Festival, the second, was held from April 30 to May 21, 2026, at Fabbrica del Vapore, with events also spread across ZONA K and other city spaces. Organized by ZONA K, the festival focused on the theme of polarization: how to live alongside those who think radically differently and how to create spaces for dialogue when algorithms isolate us in our bubbles.
The program explored the theme through a mix of theatre, performance, and visual arts, promoting hybridization between different languages. The event alternated between free events, ticketed shows, and season tickets.
