Two weekends of music, craftsmanship, and Sicilian traditions in Piazza Corrado Cagli
In the heart of the Ionian Riviera near Messina, just a few kilometers from Taormina, the Municipality of Letojanni brings Letojanni che piace – Sinfonia di Sicilia to life, an event that enlivens Piazza Corrado Cagli for two consecutive weekends in late June. The initiative was created to showcase the region through its most authentic colors and identity, highlighting Made in Sicily excellence through music, culture, traditions, and local craftsmanship.
The center of the Ionian town turns into a large open-air exhibition space: stalls featuring typical Sicilian products and artisan booths allow visitors to meet producers and master craftsmen who preserve the island's knowledge and traditions. Alongside the market, an art exhibition curated by Lorena Silaro enriches the experience, while the calendar offers cultural meetings, literary presentations, and live performances. It is a 360-degree immersive experience into the cultural and productive heritage of Sicily, designed for both residents and the many tourists who flock to the coast during this time.
Every evening, the square lights up with concerts and performances that blend traditional Sicilian folk with contemporary flair: from Mediterranean songs and dances to the voices of singer-songwriters. The festival thus unites flavors, sounds, and words in what the organizers describe as a true symphony of emotions, dedicated to enhancing the island's identity.
The event is organized by the Pro Loco of Letojanni in synergy with the Municipality of Letojanni and is co-financed by the Sicilian Region – Department of Productive Activities as part of the "Sicilia che piace" program. Councilor Teresa Rammi and Pro Loco President Pietro Corona have emphasized how initiatives of this kind represent a valuable opportunity to promote the city and strengthen the community's sense of belonging. Admission to all events is free.
