Leggermente is Lecco's Reading Festival, an event that for over fifteen years has brought the city closer to books and authors. Promoted by Confcommercio Lecco and Assocultura Confcommercio Lecco, it reaches its 17th edition in 2026, confirming itself as one of the most established and followed literary festivals in the Lombardy Region.
The 2026 Theme
The 2026 edition revolves around the theme "Slalom through the Traces of Meaning. Illuminating the Path Beyond the Season of Bewilderment", an invitation to find direction and meaning through reading and discussion. A common thread that runs through over thirty events with writers, essayists, philosophers, and artists.
Authors and Debates
The program intertwines book presentations, dialogues, and debates on philosophy, environment, and technology. Among the authors of the 2026 edition are Matteo Nucci, sociologist Carlo Bordoni, former director of Repubblica Carlo Verdelli, Mauro Covacich, and sociologists Chiara Giaccardi and Mauro Magatti. The meetings are mainly held at the Palazzo del Commercio and in the bookstores in the center of Lecco.
A Festival for Schools
A distinctive feature of Leggermente is the strong involvement of the school world: over ten thousand students participate annually in the dedicated meetings, making the festival also a major educational project. With the patronage of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Education, the Lombardy Region, and the Municipality of Lecco, Leggermente is a benchmark event for the culture of the Province of Lecco.
Leggermente — edition 2026
Leggermente 2026, the 17th edition of Lecco's Reading Festival, takes place from March 21 to 29 with the theme "Slalom through the Traces of Meaning. Illuminating the Path Beyond the Season of Bewilderment." It is organized by Confcommercio Lecco and Assocultura Confcommercio Lecco.
The program includes over thirty events, including book presentations, dialogues, and debates on philosophy, environment, and technology, mainly at the Palazzo del Commercio and in the city center bookstores. How to Get There
The meetings are mainly held at the Palazzo del Commercio, in Piazza Garibaldi, and in the bookstores in the center of Lecco, which can be reached by train from Milan and Bergamo and by car from the SS36.
