The summer night in the Marsica village featuring live music, performances, entertainment, and street food
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The White Night is the highlight of the summer in Lecce nei Marsi, a small town in the Marsica area located in the province of L'Aquila, Abruzzo. Originally a local festival promoted by the Pro Loco, it has grown over the years into one of the most awaited events of the Marsican summer, drawing locals, vacationers, and visitors from neighboring towns for a single, vibrant evening.
For one night, the streets and squares of the historic center turn into a large, sprawling stage. The atmosphere is that of a classic Italian 'notte bianca': shops and businesses stay open past their usual hours, with lights, sounds, and aromas weaving through the narrow streets in a festive mood that engages all ages until late at night.
The program blends various forms of popular entertainment:
Lecce nei Marsi lies on the slopes of Monte Turchio, on the southeastern side of the Fucino plain, within the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park. The White Night is therefore also an opportunity to discover a village of ancient origins—rebuilt in the 20th century following the 1915 Marsica earthquake—and the surrounding mountain landscape. The event is a staple in the summer calendar of the Municipality of Lecce nei Marsi and the Abruzzo Region, contributing to the promotion of the identity and social life of this Apennine corner.
The White Night is traditionally held in August, at the height of the summer season. Dates vary from year to year and are announced by the Pro Loco and the Municipality in the weeks leading up to the event.
The dates and program for the 2026 edition of the Lecce nei Marsi White Night have not yet been announced. The event, organized by the Pro Loco, is usually held in August and offers live music, performances, entertainment for all ages, and street food along the streets of the center. As soon as the Pro Loco and the Municipality announce the date and program, this page will be updated with the official details.
Lecce nei Marsi is located in the province of L'Aquila, in the Marsica region. By car, it can be reached via the A25 motorway (Pescina or Celano-Aielli exits) followed by provincial roads leading to the town. The reference railway station is Pescina, on the Rome-Pescara-Sulmona line.
The event takes place in the town center and is free to attend. Street food stalls and certain activities are subject to payment.
We recommend comfortable clothing and a light jacket for high-altitude evenings (the village is at an altitude of approximately 740 meters). Updated information and dates are published through the Pro Loco Lecce nei Marsi channels.
