About Learning More

For three days, Modena becomes the Italian capital of learning with the Learning More Festival, the country's only event exploring the frontiers of training, skills, and human capital. Over 100 events including lectures, professional workshops, panels, and immersive experiences animate the historic city center venues, from the neuroscience of learning to artificial intelligence, from school to the world of work. Featuring prominent international guests, free participation, and a program designed for teachers, trainers, researchers, parents, and knowledge professionals.

A unique festival dedicated to learning

The Learning More Festival is the first and only festival in Italy entirely dedicated to learning, training, and the enhancement of human capital. Promoted by Future Education Modena (FEM) in collaboration with the Municipality of Modena, the Fondazione di Modena, and the Modena City of Festivals circuit, the event transforms the Emilian capital into a large laboratory of ideas on the future of knowledge and skills for three days.

With over 100 events spread across multiple venues in the historic center, the festival focuses on a simple yet crucial question: how do we learn today, and how will we continue to do so in the age of artificial intelligence? The answers come from scientists, educators, entrepreneurs, and researchers invited to engage with a broad and curious audience.

Thematic areas

The program is divided into six major thematic areas spanning school, business, family, and research:

  • The learning mind — neuroscience, psychology, and neuroarchitecture of learning;
  • How and what we learn — active methodologies, visual literacy, and digital languages;
  • Organizations — artificial intelligence, work transformation, and leadership;
  • EdTech — educational technologies, venture capital, and product design;
  • Family Lab — digital well-being, screen time, and relationships with adolescents;
  • Medical Humanities — narrative medicine, visual storytelling, and healthcare communication.

Guests and protagonists

Each edition attracts leading figures from the national and international scene. Among the festival's protagonists are scholars such as Barbara Oakley, Maryanne Wolf, French psychiatrist Serge Tisseron, visual journalist Alberto Cairo, as well as Italian experts in training, teaching, and innovation like Pier Cesare Rivoltella and Susanna Sancassani. Alongside conferences, there are professional workshops, learning shows, installations, and immersive experiences.

Modena, city of festivals

The Learning More Festival is part of Modena's rich calendar. Located in the heart of Emilia-Romagna, Modena has made culture and innovation a significant part of its identity. The festival venues — from FEM's headquarters in Largo di Porta Sant'Agostino to the Fondazione Collegio San Carlo, from the Sant'Eufemia complex to the Museo Civico — are all within walking distance in the historic center, offering participants the chance to discover one of the most fascinating art cities in the Province of Modena.

A free event open to all

Participation in the festival is completely free: simply register online to access the events and create a personalized itinerary of talks, workshops, and in-depth sessions, also through the dedicated web app.
