Laterza Roast Festival

The 47th edition of the Laterza Roast Festival was held on Sunday, August 3, 2025, starting around 8:30 PM. The event, organized by the Laterza Butchers' Association with the support of the municipal administration and the Council of Associations, saw a large turnout, confirming its status as one of the most authentic and anticipated summer festivals in the Province of Taranto.

Along the route, from Via Roma to Vico Balbo, the roast was prepared according to ancient techniques passed down by local master butchers. Specialties included: zampini, gnumaredd, sausages, callaredda, braciole, stuffed horse meat rolls, and baked lamb, served with homemade bread, local cheeses, and regional wine. The evening was enlivened by live bands, pizzica groups, street performers, craft stalls, children's entertainment, and late-night DJ sets.
