The summer festival of handmade gnocchi in the village of Lapedona
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Gnocchi Festival is the gastronomic event symbol of Lapedona, a small municipality in the Province of Fermo perched on the gentle hills of Marche, a few kilometers from the Adriatic coast. Organized by the Pro Loco of Lapedona in collaboration with the municipal administration, it is considered the first festival dedicated to gnocchi born in the Marche region and attracts numerous visitors from all over the Fermo area every July.
The heart of the festival is naturally the handmade gnocchi, prepared according to the traditional recipe of the village with local products and artisanally worked pasta. They are served in numerous variations that change from year to year, including:
Accompanying the main dish are rustic side dishes, grilled meats, local cured meats and cheeses, homemade desserts, and wine from the Marche hills, in a simple but authentic menu rich in flavors.
The festival is not just about good food: the program includes live music, with concerts by local bands and offerings ranging from Marche folklore to light music, as well as evenings with DJ sets. For the little ones, games and workshops are organized, while the entire village participates by setting up outdoor tables in the streets and squares of the historic center.
The Gnocchi Festival is also the perfect opportunity to visit Lapedona, an ancient medieval village that preserves walls, gates, and panoramic views of the Aso Valley and the Sibillini Mountains. The event takes place in the heart of the town, around Piazza Giacomo Leopardi, and offers visitors a complete immersion in the hospitality and traditions of the Lapedona community. A genuine festival, where conviviality and home cooking remain the true ingredients of success.
The 2026 edition of the Gnocchi Festival is announced for July 19 and 20 in Lapedona (Province of Fermo, Marche), in the traditional setting of the historic center. This would be the 39th edition of the event organized by the Pro Loco of Lapedona.
As tradition dictates, the stars will be the handmade gnocchi, served in numerous variations accompanied by typical local products, wines from the Marche hills, and evenings of music and entertainment. The detailed program has not yet been published by the organizers, and the dates are subject to confirmation: it is advisable to check for updates with the Pro Loco of Lapedona before traveling.
The festival is held in the historic center of Lapedona (FM), with tables set up around Piazza Giacomo Leopardi.
By car: from the A14 motorway, exit at Pedaso, then take the Valdaso highway towards the interior and municipal roads towards Lapedona (about 15 km from the coast). By train: Pedaso station on the Adriatic line, then bus connections to the hinterland.
Admission to the festival area is free; food and drinks are paid for at the stands, with popular prices typical of village festivals.
Evenings can be crowded: it's advisable to arrive early to find a seat at the tables. It is recommended to check the updated dates and program by contacting the Pro Loco of Lapedona.
