Lake Iseo Crossing

A legendary swim on Lake Sebino

The Lake Iseo Crossing is one of the most beloved open-water swimming events in Lombardy. It is a non-competitive crossing of about 3 kilometers that connects Predore, on the Bergamo shore, to Iseo, in the province of Brescia. Open to men and women of all levels, it gathers hundreds of enthusiasts each year who together face the challenge of swimming across Lake Sebino.

How it works

On the morning of the event, swimmers collect their bibs and race kits at the secretariat, and are then transferred by organized ferries to the starting point, near the church of San Rocco in Predore. From there, the crossing begins, concluding on the Iseo shore with the awards ceremony at the Garibaldi Gardens. Although not competitive, the event requires preparation and respect for the lake currents, which can make it challenging.

Sport and landscape

Swimming in Lake Sebino, with Monte Isola and the lakeside villages as a backdrop, is an experience that goes beyond the sporting dimension. The Crossing combines the passion for open-water swimming with the beauty of the lake landscape, in an event that has grown to attract over five hundred participants in its most crowded editions.

A local event

Organized by ASD Nuoto Master Brescia, the event involves the Municipalities of Iseo and Predore and the entire Lake Iseo area. For the town of Iseo, it is one of the highlights of late summer, capable of uniting athletes, families, and onlookers around a now-established tradition.
