Artist 108 (Guido Bisagni) at the TAM Tower Art Museum
"La forma scavata" is the exhibition that the TAM - Tower Art Museum in Matera dedicates to 108, the artistic name of Guido Bisagni (Alessandria, 1978), one of the most recognized voices in contemporary art and Italian post-graffiti. The project stems from a deep dialogue between the artist and the city: "La forma scavata builds a double landscape, one the negative of the other. The void of the quarries is the fullness of the city".
The entire exhibition revolves around tuff stone and the Matera quarries, the stone from which Matera was literally extracted and within which it grew. The works of 108, accustomed to engaging with surfaces, signs, and essential geometries, find an ideal ground in the Sassi: the exhibition reinterprets excavation as a creative gesture, where every absence in the rock corresponds to a fullness built elsewhere.
The visit takes place through a guided tour that unfolds between Via Ridola and Gradelle Pennino, in the heart of the historic centre and the Sassi: not a simple gallery, but an itinerary that intertwines artworks, hypogean architecture, and urban landscape. The TAM, a museum that brings contemporary art to Matera's symbolic locations, confirms with this exhibition its vocation to foster dialogue between current creation and millennial heritage.
Open between the end of 2025 and the spring of 2026, the exhibition accompanies the city through its year as Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue, offering residents and visitors a contemporary key to access the ancient relationship between Matera and its stone.
Opened on December 5, 2025, and visitable until June 7, 2026, "La forma scavata" brings the visual universe of 108 (Guido Bisagni) to the TAM in Matera. The exhibition, built around the relationship between the void of the quarries and the fullness of the city, is experienced through a guided tour between Via Ridola and Gradelle Pennino, from Wednesday to Sunday.
