The Novaledo July Festival

The July Festival is the summer event organized by the Volunteer Firefighters Corps of Novaledo, a town of just over a thousand inhabitants located in the Lower Valsugana, in the province of Trento, within the Trentino-Alto Adige region. Like many festivals held by Trentino's volunteer firefighters, the event combines the convivial atmosphere of a village fair with concrete support for the corps' activities, which relies heavily on volunteering and its bond with the community.

A community celebration

At the heart of the event is the food stall run by the volunteers, featuring traditional Trentino dishes and specialties to cook and enjoy on-site. The evenings come alive with live music and ballroom dancing under the marquee, in a friendly and informal atmosphere that attracts locals and visitors from neighboring Valsugana towns, such as Levico Terme and Borgo Valsugana. It is the perfect opportunity to get together, support the fire brigade, and spend a few summer evenings outdoors.

The Volunteer Firefighters and the local area

The Novaledo Volunteer Firefighters Corps is part of the dense network of volunteer corps that characterizes Trentino, where civil protection and firefighting historically rely on local volunteering. Novaledo is one of the five corps in the "5 Fires" circuit — along with Lavarone, Carisolo, Caldonazzo, and Borgo Valsugana — which challenge each other in technical tests and events throughout the summer. Festivals like this are therefore much more than just a moment of leisure: they are a pillar of community life and economic support for the volunteers.

Novaledo and the Valsugana Valley

Novaledo lies along the Rosa stream, at the ancient border between the bishoprics of Trento and Feltre, in an area known for berry cultivation and the Church of Sant'Agostino. Nearby, you can admire the remains of the Torre Quadra, the base of an ancient drawbridge. The Valsugana valley, with its lakes of Levico and Caldonazzo and the trails of the Lagorai, offers visitors numerous opportunities to combine the festival with a holiday immersed in nature and tradition.
