A world tour in a bite
International Street Food is a traveling event that stops every year at the Idroscalo in Milan, in the municipality of Segrate, in the Province of Milan. For a long weekend, the area of the Porta Maggiore entrance transforms into a large open-air gastronomic village, where street kitchens from half the world meet.
What to eat
The beauty of street food is its variety. Among the food trucks and stands, you'll find:
- Spanish paella and churros;
- Hungarian kürtős (the spiral cake cooked over embers);
- Abruzzese arrosticini, slow-cooked porchetta, and Puglian bombette;
- Argentine and Brazilian cuisine, hot dogs, Caribbean cocktails;
- a curated selection of Italian and foreign craft beers.
On the shores of "Milan's sea"
The setting is the Idroscalo, the artificial body of water that has been the outdoor recreation spot for Milanese people for decades. Between one specialty and another, you can stroll along the shores, let children play in the green spaces, and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of a day of flavors and relaxation. Free admission makes the event perfect for families and groups of friends.
International Street Food Idroscalo — edition 2026
The 25th stop of the 10th edition of International Street Food will be held from May 1st to 3rd, 2026, at the Idroscalo in Milan, at the Porta Maggiore entrance, in the municipality of Segrate. The event, organized by A.I.R.S. – Associazione Italiana Ristoratori di Strada (Italian Street Food Restaurateurs Association), opens on Friday, May 1st, Labor Day, and continues throughout the weekend with free admission.
