About Incanto di Natale
A Christmas on the Water
In Laghi, a tiny village in the Alto Astico valley, in the province of Vicenza and the least populous municipality in Veneto, Christmas becomes a surprising event. The Incanto di Natale, organised by the Pro Loco Laghi (local tourism board) with the Gruppo Alpini (Alpine association) and local associations, enlivens the town on December 24th and 26th, transforming the lake shores into a unique Christmas setting.
The Floating Nativity Scene and Fireworks
The highlight is the illuminated floating nativity scene on the lake: at 4:30 PM on Christmas Eve, the lights turn on over the water in an "enchantment that leaves everyone in silence", followed by fireworks. Around it, the market with about seventy exhibitors of crafts and local products, the food stall with the famous Laghi gnocchi and polenta, the civic band playing Christmas carols, and on Christmas Eve evening, the Christmas Mass followed by mulled wine, hot chocolate, and the arrival of Santa Claus.
Music and Tradition
On December 26th, the festivities continue with the market, food stalls, and, in the church of San Barnaba, a classical music concert with five voices and piano, featuring famous opera pieces from The Barber of Seville, Rigoletto, La Traviata, and Turandot. An authentic Christmas, made of lights, music, and community warmth, that is worth the journey to this hidden corner of the Vicenza area.
Incanto di Natale — edition 2026
In 2026 too, the Incanto di Natale will liven up the village of Laghi on December 24th and 26th, featuring the charming floating nativity scene on the lake, fireworks, an artisan market, and typical gastronomy. The detailed program will be confirmed by Pro Loco Laghi in the weeks prior.
Programme Incanto di Natale 2026
December 24th (Christmas Eve)
- 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM — Christmas market with about 70 craft and local product exhibitors
- 11:30 AM — Opening of the food stall with Laghi gnocchi and polenta
- 3:45 PM — Christmas carol concert by the Arsiero Civic Band
- 4:30 PM — Lighting of the illuminated floating nativity scene on the lake
- Following — Fireworks over the water
- 6:00 PM — Reopening of the food stalls
- 8:30 PM — Christmas Mass, followed by mulled wine, hot chocolate, and the arrival of Santa Claus
December 26th (St. Stephen's Day)
- Market and food stalls
- 3:30 PM — Classical concert in the San Barnaba church, with five voices and piano: pieces from The Barber of Seville, Rigoletto, La Traviata, and Turandot
