Piovene Rocchette holds a curious distinction: it is the only municipality in the Vicenza area to have Saint Stephen, the protomartyr of Christianity, as its patron saint, celebrated on December 26th. The parish church dedicated to him, consecrated in 1746, is the focal point of the patronal festival that concludes the community's year.

On the day after Christmas, as Alto Vicentino embraces its traditions, Piovene Rocchette observes the solemnity of its patron saint with religious celebrations in the church of Saint Stephen. It is a festival that unites the liturgical dimension with the identity of a town overlooking the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni (Plateau of the Seven Municipalities), in the province of Vicenza.
