The arts, crafts, and collectibles market on the Lungomare dei Tirreni
In Tarquinia Lido, the seaside district of the town of Tarquinia in the province of Viterbo, the Il Mercante in Fiera market transforms the Lungomare dei Tirreni into a vast open-air exhibition space for several days. The initiative, curated by the Associazione Il Mercante in Fiera, brings stalls and stands dedicated to arts and crafts, vintage items, and collectibles to the Lazio coast, with a flagship edition during the Easter holidays and recurring dates throughout the summer season.
The market brings together exhibitors and hobbyists from the Tuscia region and Lazio, offering a varied selection ranging from handmade goods to vintage pieces. While strolling among the stands, you can discover:
Every stall tells a story: the pleasure of the event lies in browsing at your own pace, breathing in the sea air, and letting yourself be surprised by unique pieces born from the passion and ingenuity of those who create them.
The choice of the Lungomare dei Tirreni is no coincidence: the Tarquinia Lido seaside promenade is the heart of local coastal life and, during the market days, becomes a meeting point for residents, weekend visitors, and tourists vacationing on the Lazio coast. The Easter edition coincides with the start of the coastal season, when the town awakens after winter and families return to walk by the sea.
The market is also an excellent opportunity to explore the surrounding area. Tarquinia, a UNESCO World Heritage site for its extraordinary Etruscan necropolis of Monterozzi, is just a few kilometers from the beach: in a single day, you can visit the painted tombs, the National Archaeological Museum housed in Palazzo Vitelleschi, and the medieval old town with its towers. The Lazio region and the Viterbo Tuscia area also offer an inland landscape rich in villages, countryside, and culinary traditions.
The Associazione Il Mercante in Fiera organizes markets in various locations across the Tuscia region and the coast, including Civitavecchia and Vetralla. In Tarquinia Lido, in addition to the Easter event, it also hosts Il Mercante d'Estate, a long summer edition that enlivens the promenade for several consecutive weeks in August, confirming the strong bond between the event and the city's seaside life.
Admission to the market is free: it is an open-air event, accessible to everyone during the stands' opening hours. For information on dates and how to participate as an exhibitor, you can contact the association's organizers directly.
For four days, from Friday, April 3 to Monday, April 6, 2026, the Tarquinia Lido promenade was transformed into a space animated by exhibitors and stands with original and creative offerings. The 2026 edition, curated as always by the Associazione Il Mercante in Fiera, coincided with the Easter weekend, offering residents and visitors the chance to stroll among the stalls overlooking the sea.
Among the stands, one could find handcrafted creations, vintage objects, collectibles, hobbyist crafts, and handmade products made by the exhibitors themselves: unique pieces, the result of the ingenuity and passion of those who proposed them. Admission was free and the event took place entirely outdoors on the Lungomare dei Tirreni.
