About Historic Festival of the 3 Days

The Historic Festival of the 3 Days in Balestrino enlivens the medieval village and the suggestive former Marquis's Stables at the foot of the castle in August. Three evenings of typical Ligurian cuisine — fugassin, torte verdi, ravioli, lamb and rabbit Ligurian style — accompanied by live music and excellent local wines. Organized by the Pro Loco, the festival combines gastronomy, culture, and tradition in one of the most fascinating villages in the Savona hinterland.

Balestrino and its medieval village

In the Savona hinterland, the village of Balestrino (Province of Savona) preserves a charming medieval core dominated by the Del Carretto marquises' castle. It is in this extraordinary setting, and particularly in the former Marquis's Stables, that the Historic Festival of the 3 Days takes place every August, one of the most beloved events in the area, organized by the Pro Loco of Balestrino.

Ligurian cuisine takes centre stage

From 7:00 PM, the food stalls offer traditional Ligurian dishes: fugassin, torte verdi (vegetable pies), ravioli, lamb and rabbit Ligurian style, accompanied by excellent local wines. The festival is enjoyed amidst the ancient stones of the village, in an atmosphere made unique by the medieval setting and the live music that accompanies the evenings.

More than a festival: culture and memory

The event is not just about gastronomy: during the festival, you can visit the Napoleonic cadastre, opened for the occasion, and a photographic exhibition dedicated to the ancient village, partly abandoned. Covered areas and a space for children complete the offering. The Historic Festival of the 3 Days is thus an opportunity to discover the history and charm of Balestrino, one of the most picturesque villages in the hinterland of the Riviera di Ponente.

Historic Festival of the 3 Days — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of the Historic Festival of the 3 Days is scheduled for August in Balestrino, in the medieval village and the former Marquis's Stables, following the tradition of the local Pro Loco. The precise dates will be confirmed by the organization (recent editions have been held in early or mid-August). Three evenings of typical Ligurian cuisine, live music, and cultural visits.

The Historic Festival of the 3 Days returns in August 2026 to the medieval village of Balestrino, at the former Marquis's Stables. For three evenings, from 7:00 PM, the Pro Loco's food stalls will offer typical Ligurian cuisine — fugassin, torte verdi, ravioli, lamb and rabbit Ligurian style — accompanied by live music and local wines. During the festival, it will be possible to visit the Napoleonic cadastre and a photographic exhibition on the ancient village. The precise dates for the 2026 edition will be announced by the organization.
