The marathon dedicated to 1980s dual-sport motorcycles, through the hills of Val Trebbia
The HAT Marathon Legend is the event of the HAT Series entirely dedicated to 1980s dual-sport motorcycles, the great road and rally enduro bikes that made off-road and adventouring history. It is a non-competitive marathon: not a race against the clock, but a tourist-sport rally where each rider follows a GPX track at their own pace, rediscovering the pleasure of riding historic motorcycles on dirt roads and trails.
After the first edition in 2025, held in the Cuneo Alps between Garessio and Boves following the tracks of the first Hardalpitour, in 2026 the event moves to Bobbio, a charming village in Val Trebbia in the province of Piacenza, a natural crossroads between Emilia-Romagna, Lombardy, Piedmont, and Liguria, and always a favorite among motorcyclists.
The HAT Legend is not just a marathon: in the proven format of the Over 2000 Riders organization, multiple aspects coexist in a single weekend:
Motorcycles eligible to participate are dual-sport bikes of any displacement, four-stroke, manufactured by 1990, even with later evolutions, with no weight limits and suitable off-road tires. The route winds through the rolling hills surrounding Bobbio, with navigation via an app and refreshment stops planned at Grazzano Visconti, one of the most picturesque villages in the Piacenza area.
The choice of Bobbio is no coincidence: this corner of Emilia-Romagna, with its Val Trebbia described as one of the most beautiful valleys in Italy, passes through areas of great natural value (Monte Capra, Pietra Parcellara, Trebbia River, Nure Conoid). The HAT Marathon Legend thus combines the passion for classic motorcycling with the discovery of a territory rich in nature, history, and tradition, offering enthusiasts an authentic experience in the municipality of Bobbio and the province of Piacenza.
The second edition of the HAT Marathon Legend brings 1980s dual-sport motorcycles to Bobbio, in Val Trebbia, for a weekend of classic adventouring. After its 2025 debut in the Cuneo Alps, the event adopts a new loop format with departure and arrival in the same village on both Saturday and Sunday.
The program kicks off on Friday, July 10th, with the opening of the event, participant registration, and a welcome aperitif. Saturday and Sunday feature the two off-road stages, interspersed with the village, beauty contest awards, and a convivial evening with a typical dinner.
The route winds through the hills of Val Trebbia, Passo del Penice, and Monte Aserei, in a loop configuration with a refreshment stop in Grazzano Visconti. Navigation is done via the WHIP LIVE app using the GPX track provided by the organization.
Bobbio can be reached by car from the A21 motorway (Piacenza exit), then follow the SS45 of Val Trebbia for about 45 km. The nearest train station is Piacenza, connected to Bobbio by bus lines. For participants, arrival is naturally by motorcycle.
Registration is done online on the official website; the registration deadline for 2026 is June 28th. The fee includes administrative costs, GPX track, navigation system, official t-shirt, meals, health and insurance assistance, motorcycle recovery, and a certificate. Overnight stays are the responsibility of the participants.
