The Grika music festival
The Gricanti Festival is a dedicated celebration of music in the Grika language, the ancient Greco-Salentine dialect that still thrives in the towns of Grecìa Salentina. The event takes place in the countryside of Corigliano d'Otranto, in the province of Lecce, within the evocative setting of Masseria Sant'Angelo—a farmhouse nestled among centuries-old olive trees where the Avantaggiato family has long preserved the musical traditions of Salento.
Born from an idea by Rocco Avantaggiato—a tambourine player, Grika singer, and the heart of the masseria—together with the Salento Altra Musica association, the festival has become a landmark for the recovery and promotion of Grika cultural heritage, contributing to the year-round appeal of tourism in Puglia.
Music, roots, and new productions
Each edition's program brings together singers, musicians, and young groups who share a passion for rediscovering their roots: from ancient folk songs to new original works, with plenty of space for pizzica, tambourine rhythms, and Mediterranean sounds. Over the years, the stage has hosted renowned names from the Salento scene such as Alessia Tondo, Officina Zoè, Arakne Mediterranea, Ghetonia, and the Collettivo Diatonico Salentino, alongside many emerging artists.
A festival of solidarity
The Gricanti Festival has always combined celebration with social commitment: every edition is dedicated to a charitable cause, and the proceeds from the evening are donated to solidarity projects both in Italy and abroad.
The flavors of the masseria
The evening is about more than just music: the concerts are accompanied by the warm, rustic hospitality of Grecìa Salentina, featuring pucce, local wine, and traditional products grown and prepared right on the farm. It is an authentic way to discover not only the language and songs but also the flavors of this corner of Puglia.
The event is held under the patronage of the Municipality of Corigliano d'Otranto, one of the nine towns in the Union of Grecìa Salentina.
Gricanti — edition 2026
The Gricanti Festival returns every year to the countryside of Corigliano d'Otranto, in the heart of Grecìa Salentina, with its evening of Grika language music, pizzica, and folk tradition. At the moment, the dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced: following the tradition of previous years, the event is expected to take place in June at Masseria Sant'Angelo. The program, including artists, schedule, and the evening's charitable cause, will be published in the weeks leading up to the event.

Masseria Sant'Angelo, Case Sparse Sant'Angelo, 73022 Corigliano d'Otranto (LE), in the countryside among the olive trees. Accessible by car from the provincial road connecting Corigliano d'Otranto to Sternatia.
How to get there
By car: exit from the SS16 or SS275, then follow signs for Corigliano d'Otranto. Nearest train station: Corigliano d'Otranto (Ferrovie del Sud Est line, Lecce-Gagliano). Nearest airport: Brindisi-Salento.
Tips
This is an outdoor evening event in summer: bring a light jacket for the night. We recommend arriving early to enjoy the traditional dinner at the masseria before the concerts begin.
