The night parade of allegorical floats in the heart of Lessinia
In the heart of Lessinia, at the gates of Verona, Grezzana celebrates its Carnival every winter with a grand parade of allegorical floats that attracts costumed groups and visitors from all over the province. The event is organized by Pro Loco Grezzana, the true soul of the Municipality's associative life, in collaboration with the municipal administration.
In recent years, the Grezzana Carnival has opted for a unique and spectacular format: the night parade. The allegorical floats, illuminated and in motion, travel through the town's streets after sunset, creating a different atmosphere compared to traditional daytime processions. Accompanying the parade are the municipal band and the historical mask of Conte Allegro, the symbol of the Grezzana carnival.
Veronese masks, confetti, music, and the contagious joy of the costumed groups make the Grezzana Carnival an event for families and children. The festival is part of the tradition of carnivals in the Veronese foothills, where each town stages its own parade, and represents one of the most cherished community gatherings of the year for the Valpantena and Lessinia communities.
A municipality in the province of Verona overlooking the Valpantena valley, Grezzana is the gateway to Lessinia, the pre-Alpine plateau known for its landscapes, cheeses, and rural traditions. The Carnival is an opportunity to discover the town in a festive mood, amidst its squares and hamlets.
The Grezzana Carnival 2026 will be held on Friday, February 27, featuring the night parade format. The event, initially scheduled for January 25, was postponed due to bad weather and rescheduled for late February. The parade of allegorical floats begins in the evening and winds through the town center, accompanied by the municipal band and Conte Allegro.
During the event, parking bans and traffic closures will be in effect on the streets affected by the procession, generally until the end of the evening.
Grezzana can be reached from Verona in about 20 minutes by car, driving up the Valpantena along the SP6. By train, Verona Porta Nuova station is connected to the town by intercity bus lines.
Free admission. During the parade, traffic closures and parking bans are in effect in the streets of the center. For the updated program, consult Pro Loco Grezzana and the Municipality's website.
