The Ferragosto feast of the hamlet of Montorio, east of Verona
The Assumption Festival is the summer feast of the hamlet of Montorio Veronese, in the eastern part of Verona (district 8). Organized by the local parish around the Assumption on August 15th, it is one of the most deeply rooted Ferragosto events in the Veronese territory: in 2026, it will reach its 28th edition.
The heart of the festival are the food stalls, where Veronese culinary specialties are served: risotto al tastasal (with seasoned pork mince), pastissada de musso (braised donkey, an identity dish of the region), and many other typical dishes accompanied by local wines.
Every evening, the festival offers live music, while for the little ones there are dedicated activities such as face painting and baby dance. There are also the charity raffle and the final tombola, traditional events that conclude the feast. Promoted entirely by parish volunteers, the Assumption Festival is a genuine opportunity to experience Veronese Ferragosto away from the tourist crowds, amidst the hills and villages east of the city.
In 2026, the Assumption Festival of Montorio Veronese will reach its 28th edition. The feast traditionally takes place around Ferragosto, with food stalls, live music evenings, and family activities. The official dates will be announced by the parish of Montorio on the website sagradellassunta.it and on the town's social media channels.
The usual structure of the festival includes the opening of food and wine stalls every evening with Veronese specialties (risotto al tastasal, pastissada de musso), live music, and for children, face painting and baby dance. In the final days, the charity raffle and the final tombola are held. The detailed program with dates and guests for the 2026 edition will be published on the official website sagradellassunta.it.
