Children's literature and games in the village of the Sanctuary of Grazie
In Grazie di Curtatone, a hamlet in the Province of Mantua famous for its Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin, Grazie in Festa – Writers in the Village takes place every spring. It is a festival dedicated to children's literature and the encounter between books, games, and nature, organized by the Curtatone Library along the banks of the Mincio River.
The first part of the event is reserved for schools: meetings with authors and illustrators, creative workshops, reading sessions, and activities that introduce children to the pleasure of books. Interactive shows and theatrical storytelling accompany students in a program tailored for them.
On the weekend, the festival opens to the public with a program for all ages: tricycle tours and bicycle obstacle courses, boat trips on the river with fairy tale readings, traditional games, circus workshops, puppet shows, and the kite festival. Reading areas curated by the library and inclusive reading projects complete an offering that makes participation its core.
Experiencing Grazie in Festa also means discovering one of the most evocative villages in the Mantua area, dominated by the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of Grazie and overlooking the Mincio Valleys, a nature reserve of great value. A setting that intertwines culture, faith, and nature, ideal for a festival designed for children and families.
