The amateur cyclists' granfondo on the Riviera dei Fiori, the day after the professional race
The Granfondo Sanremo-Sanremo 'La Classicissima' is the cycling event that takes place in Sanremo (province of Imperia) the day after the professional Milan-Sanremo race. Starting from Lungomare Salvo d'Acquisto, the route winds along the Riviera dei Fiori and retraces the final sections of the classic race, including the climbs of Cipressa and Poggio.
The granfondo is open to amateur cyclists aged 18 to 75 and allows participants to tackle the same climbs that decide the professional race, in a spectacular landscape between the sea and hills. It's an opportunity to test yourself against cycling history, on roads made famous by decades of the Milan-Sanremo.
Together with the professional race and other granfondo events, 'La Classicissima' makes Sanremo the capital of spring cycling. A weekend that transforms the Riviera dei Fiori into a grand stage for two-wheel enthusiasts, professionals and amateurs alike.
The 2026 edition, the 12th, takes place on Sunday, March 22, the day after the professional classic. The start is from Lungomare Salvo d'Acquisto at 10 AM, with a route along the Riviera dei Fiori that includes the legendary climbs of Cipressa and Poggio di Sanremo.
The granfondo is open to amateur cyclists aged 18 to 75.
Start and finish in Sanremo, on Lungomare Salvo d'Acquisto. The city is served by the train station on the Genoa-Ventimiglia line; by car, take the Sanremo exit on the A10 motorway.
