The Giordano Riello Run is a running race that takes place in Legnago, in the province of Verona, dedicated to the memory of Giordano Riello, a historic Veronese entrepreneur founder of Aermec and known as the "king of air conditioners". The initiative celebrates the figure of a protagonist of Italian industrial development, a symbol of innovation and connection with the territory.
Two routes for everyone
The event offers two routes: a 10.2 km race, valid as both competitive and non-competitive, and a Family Run of 5.1 km open to families, children, and enthusiasts. The route crosses the center of Legnago, passing through Corso della Vittoria, Piazza Garibaldi, Via Matteotti, and a section along the cycle path on the right bank of the Adige river.
Sport, memory, and solidarity
In addition to sport, the race has a strong dimension of memory and community. After the race, a convivial moment with risotto in Piazza Garibaldi brings participants together. The proceeds of the initiative are donated to San Martino APS Legnago, confirming the event's solidarity value. The event was strongly desired by the Riello family and supported by the municipal administration.
Giordano Riello Run — edition 2026
The first edition of the Giordano Riello Run was held on Sunday, May 24, 2026, in Legnago, with a start at 9 AM from Corso della Vittoria. The race, dedicated to the memory of entrepreneur Giordano Riello on the centenary of his birth, offered two routes: a 10.2 km event (competitive and non-competitive) and a Family Run of 5.1 km.
The route crossed the city center, from Corso della Vittoria to Piazza Garibaldi and Via Matteotti, including a section along the cycle path on the right bank of the Adige river. The event surpassed the symbolic goal of 500 registrations, attracting over 500 participants. Afterwards, risotto in Piazza Garibaldi brought the runners together. The proceeds were donated to San Martino APS Legnago.

How to get there
Legnago can be reached by car from the Transpolesana SS434 or from the A13 motorway (Boara or Rovigo exit) and is served by the city's train station. The start is from Corso della Vittoria, in the center.
Registration
Registration for the competitive race (10.2 km) and the Family Run (5.1 km) is available on the official website giordanoriellorun.it. During the event, traffic restrictions will be in place on the streets of the route.
