The spring concert of the Prato allo Stelvio band
The Frühjahrskonzert der Musikkapelle Prad is the most anticipated event of the year for the wind band of Prato allo Stelvio/Prad am Stilfserjoch, in the Vinschgau Valley (province of Bolzano, Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol). Every spring, the Musikkapelle presents its audience with a meticulously curated program, turning the concert into a true celebration for the entire community of Prato allo Stelvio.
A band with over 150 years of history
The Musikkapelle Prad am Stilfserjoch was founded in 1866 and has since accompanied the civil and religious life of the village, from processions and patronal feasts to concert performances. Today, it boasts 45 active musicians (25 men and 20 women) and features a youth band, established in 2002, which introduces younger generations to wind music and provides their musical training. The artistic direction is entrusted to Kapellmeister Oliver Stilin, while the presidency (Obmann) is held by Lukas Obwegeser.
The evening's program
The Frühjahrskonzert traditionally offers a challenging repertoire that spans the entire world of Blasmusik: from marches and overtures of the band tradition to film scores, and from arrangements of light symphonic music to solo and vocal performances. In recent editions, the band has performed ambitious pieces accompanied by soloists, met with long applause in a completely sold-out hall.

Frühjahrskonzert Musikkapelle Prad — edition 2026
The 2026 Frühjahrskonzert of the Musikkapelle Prad will return, as per custom, in late March to the Raiffeisensaal of the "aquaprad" National Park House in Prato allo Stelvio. At the moment, the band has not yet published the official date or the program for the 2026 edition. As every year, the concert will be conducted by the Kapellmeister and will feature a repertoire dedicated to the world of wind music. Updated information will be released through the Musikkapelle's channels and the Prato allo Stelvio tourist office.
