Frittello and Novello Wine Festival / Walking for Oil and Culture

The 26th edition of the Frittello and Novello Wine Festival was held on Monday, December 8, 2025, the day of the Immaculate Conception, in Castelnuovo di Farfa. The day began at 9 am with trekking on the Via di Francesco and a visit to the early medieval site of San Donato; at 10 am, the artisan and local producer stalls opened, followed at 11 am by a tasting of the new oil in the Panel Room. From 12:30 pm, food stalls offered bruschetta with new oil, Sabina-style pasta, arrosticini, sausages, frittelli, and novello wine, accompanied by the music of the Amici dell'Organetto. In the afternoon, guided tours of the Oil Museum and the old village were held, along with the 'Little Oil Tasters' workshop for children. The edition, part of the 'Walking for Oil and Culture' series, was dedicated to the memory of chef and teacher Remigio Mattei.
