The Risorgimento becomes a cultural hub again
The Cinema Teatro Risorgimento in Larino, a municipality in the province of Campobasso that holds one of the most evocative historic centres in Frentano Molise, hosts a theatre season organised by Frentania Teatri in collaboration with the Municipality every year. After the restoration work on the structure, the hall has come back to life as an open, accessible, and vibrant space, capable of attracting audiences from all over the region.
Two complementary paths
The programme is developed on two distinct but interconnected tracks. The prose season, directed by Giandomenico Sale, brings national actors and directors to the Risorgimento stage, with performances on Sundays. Alongside it, the Teatro OFF season, curated by Nicolangelo Licursi, showcases quality amateur theatre and local companies, with events on Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons.
A reference point for Molise
The season was conceived as an opportunity for cultural growth and cohesion for the Frentano community: the theatre becomes a meeting place, as well as a performance space. The focus on artistic quality is combined with the desire to make the Risorgimento a pulsating heart of city life, in dialogue with Larino's historical heritage, from the Roman amphitheatre to the cathedral.

Attending a performance at the Risorgimento is also an opportunity to discover Larino, an ancient Frentano city that preserves Roman mosaics, the amphitheatre, and one of the most fascinating medieval historic centres in Molise.
Frentana Theatre Season — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Frentana Theatre Season was officially presented on December 18, 2025, in the Sala Freda of Palazzo Ducale in Larino, in the presence of Mayor Pino Puchetti, Councillor for Culture Iolanda Giusti, and the two artistic directors Giandomenico Sale (prose) and Nicolangelo Licursi (Teatro OFF). The programme alternated major names from the national scene with local productions.

Prose: ticket €25 (reduced €20), season ticket €135 (reduced €105). Teatro OFF: ticket €12 (reduced €10), season ticket €53 (reduced €45). Combined season ticket €170. Free entry for people with disabilities.
How to get there
Larino is reachable by car via the SS647 Fondo Valle del Biferno; the train station is on the Termoli-Campobasso Adriatic line.
