Fregnacce with Persa Festival

The 38th Fregnacce with Persa Festival took place on August 14, 2025, in the Piazza Comunale of Castelnuovo di Farfa, in the province of Rieti. The event, organized by the Pro Loco, concluded the "Estate Castelnovese" program, which began on July 9th and continued for weeks with shows, dancing, and games.

The stars of the evening, which opened at 9:00 PM, were the fregnacce, fresh pasta seasoned with persa (marjoram) pesto, garlic, chili, and Sabina PDO extra virgin olive oil, served with grilled meats and local wine. The celebration took place in the heart of the medieval village, just steps away from the Farfa Abbey and the Sabina Olive Oil Museum.
