Edition 2025 — Fornello and Zampino Festival
The fifth edition of the Fornello and Zampino Festival was held on August 13 and 14, 2025 at the former municipal slaughterhouse of Gioia del Colle, in the province of Bari. The event marked the return of the festival fifty-five years after the last historical edition dedicated to the product.
The opening evening on Wednesday, August 13, began at 7:30 PM with official speeches by Mayor Giovanni Mastrangelo and local representatives, followed by the lighting of the embers for the zampino tasting. Live music at 10:00 PM was provided by The Double Band. On Thursday, August 14, at 7:30 PM, the book PUGLIA MInA by Mina Micunco was presented, while the Hop'n swing band performed late in the evening.
The stars of the table were the zampino, the fornello, and local delicacies: Primitivo wine, mozzarella, and extra virgin olive oil, with the participation of local butchers and artisans. The event was promoted by the Municipality of Gioia del Colle in collaboration with the Sciò Eventi association and with the support of the Agriculture Department of the Puglia Region.
