Floats and masks in the Vulture village
The Forenza Carnival is a young event, but now well-established in the calendar of Forenza, a hilltop village in the Vulture-Alto Bradano area, in the province of Potenza. Organized by the Gruppo Forenzese in collaboration with the Municipality of Forenza and the Pro Loco, the carnival unfolds over two days with entertainment, parades, and music.
The first day is mainly dedicated to children, with entertainment in a heated tent: face painting, group games, karaoke, dancing, and balloon sculpting. The second day is the heart of the festival, featuring the parade of floats and masks that winds through the town, followed by musical performances and a DJ set in the evening.
Although it originated only a few years ago, the Forenza Carnival has become a moment of community gathering, attracting families and visitors from neighboring towns. The celebration is centered in the heart of the village, around Piazza Regina Margherita and the area of the Villa Comunale.
For 2026, the Forenza Carnival reaches its 6th edition, scheduled for Saturday, February 7, and Sunday, February 8. Organized by the Gruppo Forenzese with the Municipality of Forenza and the Pro Loco, it confirms the two-day format with free admission.
The 2026 program includes:
How to get there: Forenza is located in the Vulture-Alto Bradano region, accessible from the provincial road network north of Potenza.
Admission: free.
Location: Piazza Regina Margherita and the town center; the parade starts from Piazzale Padre Pio.
