A village Carnival in the heart of Ciociaria

The Fontana Liri Carnival is one of the most popular winter festivals in the town of Fontana Liri, located in the province of Frosinone, in southern Lazio. It is not a monumental historical carnival like those in major cities; rather, it is a community-driven celebration where the village gathers for a few days of confetti, masks, music, and allegorical floats. The event is promoted by the Municipality of Fontana Liri in collaboration with the Pro Loco and the Il Castello Cultural Association, with the essential contribution of local volunteers and associations.

The Liri Valley float circuit

The unique aspect of the Fontana Carnival is its openness to the surrounding area: the town is part of a true carnival circuit that involves neighboring municipalities, from Arce to Strangolagalli, from Monte San Giovanni Campano to Ripi, Torrice, and Arpino.
