Foligno in Fiore is the competition promoted by the Municipality of Foligno (Province of Perugia) to encourage the beautification of public and private spaces through floral and botanical decorations, open to thematic interpretation. The initiative involves the community in a grand collective gesture of care and beauty that colours the historic centre in the heart of Umbria.
Four categories in competition
The competition is free and open to all, divided into four categories: windows, balconies, and terraces; courtyards, gardens, cloisters, alleys, and historic squares; commercial and business activities; and schools from all over the municipal area. A technical committee evaluates the arrangements and awards prizes for the most beautiful and well-kept creations.
A community celebration
Organised by the Municipal Administration together with volunteers and the In Centro Consortium, Foligno in Fiore combines urban decor, participation, and social interaction, transforming alleys and squares into a floral route. An event that, edition after edition, strengthens the bond between the inhabitants and their historic centre.
Foligno in Fiore — edition 2026
The sixth edition of Foligno in Fiore enlivens June 2026 with the usual floral competition in the historic centre. Registration, free of charge, is open until June 10th; the technical committee's site visits take place from June 10th to 29th; the awards ceremony concludes the edition on June 30th.
The competition is divided into four categories — windows, balconies, and terraces; courtyards, gardens, cloisters, alleys, and historic squares; commercial and business activities; schools in the municipal area — with cash prizes for the top three in each category and special mentions for particular aesthetic or social merits.
