About Maragnole Fish Festival

In Maragnole, a hamlet of Breganze in the province of Vicenza, the Sagra del Pesce - Festa del Carmine brings the best of Venetian fish cuisine to the table. Thanks to the twinning with Pellestrina, along the Venice lagoon, the festival offers sardines in saor, cuttlefish, mixed fried fish, and seafood spaghetti, in a July celebration that combines lagoon tradition with the conviviality of the Vicenza Pedemontana. This event, organized by Pro Loco Maragnole, has been running for about twenty-five years.

The sea arrives in Maragnole

The Fish Festival - Carmine Feast is the most anticipated summer event in Maragnole, a hamlet of Breganze in the province of Vicenza. A special festival for a plain town: the protagonist is indeed Venetian fish cuisine, brought here thanks to the twinning with Pellestrina, a fishing community in the Venice lagoon.

Flavors of the lagoon

The food stand, in Piazza Mons. Camillo Faresin, offers traditional lagoon specialties: sardines in saor, cuttlefish, mixed fried fish, seafood spaghetti, and many other fish dishes. A menu that brings the scents and flavors of the Adriatic to the hills of the Pedemontana.

A community feast

Now around its 25th edition, the festival is organized by Pro Loco Maragnole and accompanied by musical evenings and moments of celebration, during the period of the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. An event that has successfully built an ideal bridge between Maragnole and Pellestrina, between land and sea.

Maragnole Fish Festival — edition 2026

In July 2026, the Fish Festival - Carmine Feast returns to Maragnole di Breganze, reaching its 25th edition: Venetian fish cuisine — sardines in saor, cuttlefish, mixed fried fish, seafood spaghetti — thanks to the twinning with Pellestrina, in Piazza Mons. Camillo Faresin. Dates to be confirmed.

The 2026 edition of the Fish Festival - Carmine Feast is scheduled for July in Maragnole, a hamlet of Breganze. The Pro Loco Maragnole confirms the formula with Venetian fish cuisine as the star, resulting from the twinning with Pellestrina. Precise dates will be announced on the official website.
