During the first weekend of June, the Parco Sandro Pertini in Ovada—a charming town in the province of Alessandria, nestled between Piedmont and Liguria—hosts Fiorissima. This nursery and flower market attracts gardening enthusiasts from across Lower Piedmont and the nearby Genoa area. Organized by the Gardening in collina association, led by architect Giovanna Zerbo, the event has firmly established itself as one of the most anticipated dates on the regional horticultural calendar.
Nurserymen and plants
The heart of Fiorissima lies in its forty selected exhibitors, nurserymen from various regions of Northern and Central Italy, each specializing in a specific niche. Strolling through the stalls set up in the park's greenery, visitors can discover rare and unusual plants, antique and modern roses, aromatic herbs, perennial herbaceous plants, succulents, aquatic plants, citrus trees, bulbs, peonies, acidophilic plants, and ancient fruit varieties. Alongside the plants, there is a wide selection of garden furniture, tools, accessories, and local artisanal products.

Fiorissima is more than just a market: the program offers in-depth talks with industry experts on horticultural topics, workshops for children, and initiatives designed to highlight the historical and artistic excellence of the Ovadese area. Throughout the weekend, the town comes alive with an antiques market in the historic center, the opening of local oratories, and Dolcetto di Ovada wine tastings at the Enoteca Regionale, creating a journey that perfectly blends flowers, culture, and wine.

Fiorissima — edition 2026
The twelfth spring edition of Fiorissima took place on Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the Parco Sandro Pertini in Ovada, recording a strong turnout throughout the weekend.
Among the stalls, around forty exhibitors offered both common and unique plants and flowers, garden tools and furniture, crafts, and local products. There was also a selection of farm animals, including poultry and a pony, which delighted families during the two-day event. The program also included in-depth talks on horticultural topics and workshops dedicated to children.
