In Acquanegra sul Chiese, in the Province of Mantua, the Fiera di San Fortunato has its roots in a distant past: it began in 1662 and is considered one of the oldest and most appreciated fairs in the Mantua area. It takes place on the third Sunday of October, in honour of the patron saint San Fortunato, with celebrations extending from the preceding Thursday to the following Tuesday.

The 2026 edition confirms the centuries-old tradition of the fair, scheduled for the week of the third Sunday in October. The festivities, from Thursday to Tuesday, will liven up Piazza XV Aprile and the historic centre with various markets, musical and dance performances, fire shows, competitions, and sporting events, as well as the unmissable dialect comedies and the sawdust mosaic carpet in the church of San Tommaso.
