About Fiera di Ficarolo

The Fair of the Blessed Virgin of Mount Carmel is the most important event of the year in Ficarolo: a historic fair, now in its seventieth edition, which for eleven days in July enlivens the Park of Villa Giglioli with food stalls, shows, exhibitions, and rides. The queen of the table is the Sturgeon Festival, with bigoli, pumpkin tortelli, and sturgeon in many preparations. A great popular festival of the Polesine, with free admission, featuring music, theatre, and river flavors.

Ficarolo's most anticipated fair

The Fair of the Blessed Virgin of Mount Carmel, commonly known as the Fiera di Ficarolo, is the flagship event of Ficarolo, a municipality in the province of Rovigo in the Alto Polesine region. With over seventy years of history, it is one of the most deeply rooted fairs in the Rovigo area, capable of attracting thousands of visitors for eleven days in July to the charming Park of Villa Giglioli.

The Sturgeon Festival

The gastronomic heart of the fair is the Sagra dello Storione (Sturgeon Festival), which brings the traditional dishes of the Polesine river area to the table: bigoli with sturgeon, pumpkin tortelli, tagliatelle with ragรน, sturgeon with polenta, mixed fried fish, marinated ribs, and pinzin. A menu that tells the deep connection between Ficarolo and the Po River.

Shows, exhibitions, and Luna Park

In addition to gastronomy, the fair offers a rich program of musical and theatrical performances, entertainment, art and photographic exhibitions set up at Villa Giglioli, and the Luna Park in Piazza Marconi. The event, linked to the religious feast of the Blessed Virgin of Mount Carmel, has free admission by tradition and is organized by Pro Loco Ficarolo. It represents the culmination of the Ficarolo summer and one of the most keenly felt events in the Polesine calendar.
