Three days of books, authors, and culture in the historic center of Porto Maurizio
The Imperia Book Fair is one of the most important cultural events in western Liguria. Hosted in the charming historic center of Porto Maurizio, one of the two souls of the city of Imperia, in Liguria, the event transforms the alleys, squares, and buildings of the Parasio into a grand itinerary dedicated to books and reading for three days.
Subtitled Mediterranean Culture Festival, the Book Fair stands out for the variety of its offerings: alongside encounters with writers, journalists, and scholars, there is also space for guests from the worlds of fashion, entertainment, and pop culture. It's a mix that makes the festival accessible to a wide audience, capable of attracting literature enthusiasts, families, and the curious alike.
The program includes over a hundred events spread throughout the main streets of the historic center: presentations, debates, exhibitions, workshops, and shows follow one another for the entire duration of the event. Each edition is guided by a theme, which directs the encounters and reflections on the contemporary relationship with reading, writing, and new technologies.
The choice of the historic center of Porto Maurizio as the setting is no coincidence: the Parasio village, with its views overlooking the sea and the Basilica of San Maurizio, gives the Book Fair a unique charm. An opportunity to combine a passion for books with the discovery of one of the most beautiful historic centers in western Liguria.
The 25th edition of the Imperia Book Fair takes place from May 29 to 31, 2026, in the historic center of Porto Maurizio, with the theme "I am as you want me to be. The meaning of reading - tailor-made - in the 21st century", dedicated to the contemporary relationship with reading, writing, and new technologies, including artificial intelligence.
Over a hundred events liven up the streets of the center, with dozens of authors, scholars, and experts from all over Italy. Among the new features are the "Letti di Notte" evenings at Isola Mediterranea, with after-dinner talks, concerts, shows, and night visits to the dome of the Basilica of San Maurizio.
Porto Maurizio is one of the two districts of Imperia, reachable by train (Imperia station) and from the A10 motorway (Imperia Ovest exit). The historic center of Parasio can be reached on foot from the city center.
Most events are free admission. Full program on the official website fieradellibroimperia.it.
