Running for a good cause

The Fibrosi Run — Tu corri, io respiro is a non-competitive race held in Giussano, a municipality in the province of Monza and Brianza, with a precise objective: to raise funds for research on cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease that affects the bronchi and lungs from birth. The proceeds go to the Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation (FFC Ricerca).

Two routes around the lake

The event offers two routes, 6 and 10 kilometers, winding through the suggestive scenery of the Giussano lake. The start is set in the morning from the lake's parking lot: a formula open to everyone, from the most trained runners to families with children, who can participate by walking.

A solidarity machine

The event is organized by the Comitato Laghetto and the Pro Loco of Giussano, together with the association "Io corro con Giovanni" and with the support of local and national solidarity partners. Past editions have attracted over 1,200 participants, allowing the collection of tens of thousands of euros for research: numbers that tell how much the Fibrosi Run has become, in a few years, a reference event for solidarity sports in Brianza.

Sport and community

More than a race, the Fibrosi Run is a community celebration: a morning where running or walking together becomes a concrete way to make your contribution. Sponsored by the Municipalities of Giussano and Carate Brianza, it is an example of how sport can become a tool for solidarity and awareness.
